Pearl & Quartz Bead Choker

Description

This choker is an ode to Thalassa, the primordial Greek goddess of the sea. She is not simply a nymph but the sea itself; the elemental, life-giving mother of all marine creatures and the pure, ancient source of the ocean's salt.

This piece is a balance of her two essences. Each bead is clear, tumbled quartz, like crystallised seafoam or the pure, sun-drenched salt of the shore. Interspersed are genuine freshwater baroque pearls, hand-selected for their unique, organic forms. They are the treasures of her deep, mysterious domain, their lustre like a wave breaking in the light.

Artistry Forged by the Sea

Lovingly handmade by the sea in our Cyprus studio, each stone and pearl is strung with meticulous care and intention. The design is timeless, destined to become a modern heirloom that balances the raw, crystalline energy of the shore with the soft, organic lustre of the deep.

The choker is finished with a gold-plated magnetic oyster clasp, blending luxurious design with effortless function. It secures with a satisfying click, giving you a seamless, secure fit in seconds.

Care

How to Care for Your Pearls

Your pearls are precious, organic gems born from the sea. Unlike harder stones, they are soft and porous, requiring gentle care to protect their beautiful lustre for generations.

The Golden Rule: Last On, First Off
Pearls should be the last thing you put on after applying all cosmetics, perfumes, lotions, or hairspray. They should also be the first thing you take off at the end of the day. The chemicals in beauty products can be harmful to their nacre (their iridescent outer layer).

After Each Wear
After you take them off, gently wipe your pearls with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. This simple step removes any traces of body oils or chemicals that can settle on their surface and dull their shine.

Safe Storage
Pearls need to "breathe" but should also be protected from scratches.

  • Do: Store them separately in a fabric-lined pouch or a soft-cloth-lined jewellery box.
  • Don't: Store them in an airtight plastic bag, as this can dry them out.
  • Don't: Store them jumbled with other jewellery. Hard gemstones (like diamonds) and metal clasps can easily scratch their delicate surface.

Avoid Water and Sweat
Never wear your pearl jewellery while showering, bathing, swimming, or in a sauna or steam room.

  • Water can weaken the silk thread on which necklaces and bracelets are strung.
  • Chlorine, salt, and even soap can damage the pearls themselves.
  • Sweat is acidic; always wipe your pearls clean after wearing them, especially if worn during warm weather or exercise.

Professional Re-stringing
If your necklace or bracelet is worn frequently, the silk thread will naturally stretch and weaken over time. To keep your heirloom secure, we recommend having your pearls professionally re-strung every few years, or as soon as you notice any gapping between the pearls.

With a little mindful care, your pearls will remain a timeless and radiant part of your collection.

For women of the Sea

Before Poseidon, before Aphrodite and all the Olympian gods, there was a primordial, raw, boundless deity who ruled the seas in her chaotic form. Daughter of Aether (Air) and Hemera (Day), she was a force of vast, formless, ever-moving sea.

Her name was Thalassa.

She is not ruled. She is the rule. The raw feminine power of salt and tide.

This collection is dedicated to her and to all women who are wild, powerful, and infinite as the sea.
